You know why I love conferences? Because they put you around people who share your interests, speak your language, and inspire you to do better with your talent. I really loved laughing, connecting and discovering the many opportunities available to bloggers and creators at the We All Grow Summit (#WeAllGrow) in Long Beach. I had a ball! But the soul of every conference, to me, is the wisdom I encounter, be it useful photography techniques, strategic branding, marketing or a brilliant insight that will help me become a better blogger and internet citizen. One thing #WeAllGrow taught me is to share your wisdom, especially if it could inspire other members of the content creator community. If you didn’t get a chance to be in the thick of things, I’m putting together my 10 favorite quotes I heard from speakers, presenters, and (of course) my favorite bloggers.
Amen sister, Amen! Struggles are inevitable and no doubt will thrust each and everyone of us into the unknown, but what happens after, be it you embrace or overcome it, is what ultimately will shape each of us. I resonated so much with Marianna’s passion and was inspired by her will power to achieve her dreams.
Wow! This one might be my favorite. We all have insecurities and have dealt with the fears that come along with them. Some of us confront them head on while others ignore them. I’ve done both at certain points in my life, but lately have been running and hiding from my insecurities. I’m tired of running and hiding. I’m tired of holding myself back. Laura’s personal struggle with weight and how she chose to overcome her insecurities was a breath of fresh air. It’s time to embrace mine (each and every one) and make them my greatest asset.
Such an amazing quote that I probably will end up framing it! It really put things into perspective when considering “success” and when it may come. It is important to plant seeds in order to pick the fruit. If you never plant, the fruit will never come. So don’t stop!
Note: I probably too would be ecstatic about getting jabón.
What a great reminder of the responsibilities we all have as content creators, influencers, and the importance of being inclusive. Authenticity is key to not only connecting with our audience, but also to ourselves. Dulce Candy gets it!
Bravo! I’ve been to many conferences and this is the first where a panel focused on the Plus Size industry. It was great to hear all of the presenters speak on how they’ve each created a platform bringing this movement to the forefront in fashion. Amazing tips were provided on picture taking and connecting with existing brands in addition to new ones such as Stitch Fix, a sponsor of the conference who launched a plus size line in March 2017.
Isn’t this the truth! Being bound to financial burdens can cause unrelenting stress. It is important to learn how to work smarter to build and grow our crafts with the resources that make best sense to each of us. I received some of the best advice from this workshop such as setting goals, respecting time and the importance of being better than average.
Great advice that I can speak of from personal experience. While it was tough to lose the client, in hindsight, it was the best decision made. Credibility, although can be regained, is extremely difficult to do so once it’s lost.
Amen! I felt this quote captured what I personally thrive to be as a content creator.
What a great piece of advice to receive on embracing our quirks and making them work for us. It’s so easy to get caught up in comparing and competing with one another instead of focusing on our strengths and what makes us unique. Like the overarching theme of the summit, When One Grows, We All Grow!
Silvia kicked off the Storytellers, presented by Disney Princess “Dream Big, Princess” series, which is one of my favorite parts of the conference. As a co-producer and story editor of Elena of Avalor, she provided a very valuable writing tip that I will make sure to remember, practice and use.
Check out the Dream Big, Princess video, which inspires girls everywhere to celebrate who they are!
I give props to all the people who spoke and presented at We All Grow this year, and to the conference organizers who put together some very insightful, and helpful panels. Can’t wait for next years summit, but in the meantime look forward to attending We All Grow Cities starting with #WeAllGrowNYC in a short couple of months. Who knows, maybe they will be coming to a city near you…
